How often do you have playing tests?
Playing tests occur every two to three weeks. Students are always given prior notice. The only exception would be a pop quiz that would solely be based on previously reviewed repitoire. A consistent practice routine is strongly recommended.
How often should I practice?
Ideally, daily practice would be preferred. However, taking into account busy lifestyles I strongly suggest no less than 15-20min every second day four times a week. Any less time than the above mentioned, your child will likely struggle with the demands of the program.
How come I'm not getting better faster?
In this age of instant gratification, students need to understand that acquiring a new skill takes time. Most you have never played an instrument before. Consistent practice will wield favorable results. Be patient. Following every playing test, I always provide feedback for every student so that they can continue to improve.

It is also possible to practice the incorrect way. I always let students know that I'm available for extra help. I often refer to this as a "tune up" as students might overlook small stumbling blocks that prevent them from progressing. Once you know how practice effectively, the results will speak for themselves.
What materials are required for class?
Students are required to bring their assigned instrument, have a seperate duo-tang with lined paper or a music section in their binder, a pencil and an eraser.
